So I just got my new red, white and blue unionjack mirror caps today from Morristown Mini. NO instructions, so I called them up. Here's what the parts guy told me:
Tilt the mirror all the way down to allow your fingers to get in behind the mirror. Using the palm of your hand against the glass, use your fingers to reach in the top and pry the glass mirror off the motor joint. Taking great care not to break the glass. Then un-do the mirror cap clips and re-install the new caps. Reverse the procedure for re-installing the mirror.

Does this sound like the right way? I don't want to break my mirrors trying to get to the clips holding the caps on. Is there a better way.

Forgot to thank you for the link. I had my caps installed in less than ten minutes using his method and I didn't break anything.

 

Thanks from here as well - I will need these instructions when I install my chrome mirror caps... speaking of which, anyone know where I can get a pair of chrome mirror caps?
