Check out this MINI2 Forum , it is already on another forum but it is hidden. Just a bit of info: my '00 323i has it and has "pages" 0-21 but I can't get most of them to activate (If i select 3._ and don't press the button or do press it, it just goes back to the clock). But that doesn't have anything to do with MINI. My mini is being built next week! Yipee!

OK, well, those guys in England have definitely invested some time in this...but interestingly enough, this thread has emerged on MINI Cooper Online too! (thread about OBD)

The real question that hasn't been answered by anyone yet is whether or not the BMW service manual has a listing of the codes, or is this something that you have to have the corresponding BMW service computer for. I recall that someone on this site was going to get their hands on a BMW service "manual" CD (via eBay). Would that tell?

The owners manual actually makes reference to this when it talks about the "brake fluid change" indicator (pg 57) but aside from telling you that this indicator can be made to appear by pressing the trip odometer reset button when the service interval indicator lights, it tells you nothing about the rest of the codes or even that there ARE other codes. The manual hints (page 92) that there's more info available on the maintenance computer, but gives no info on how to access it. (BTW, am I the only one who thinks that the MINI manual is pretty lame? Reasonably attractive, but very slim on useful info )

So, short of spending hours in my car fiddling with key positions and pressing tiny buttons...and then trying to decypher codes... can anyone point toward an authoritative source for the code definitions? I guess BMW likes its secrets.

I wonder if the Mini has any 'Easter Eggs' like the new BMW (the automatic rev to 4000rpm and drop the clutch start) ?

I was wondering about easter eggs...but maybe that's a "feature" we could do without (unless they're nice ones).
