Do I really need these services?

Went an got an oil change yesterday and naturally there were a bunch of suggested services by the tech. A couple are no brainers, but I am wondering about the others.

Coolant flush due: on 6/2/11 when in for Inspection Service II, I had the water pump replaced too. My service notes say "bled cooling system to spec". Do I need this service?

Power steering flush due: on 6/6/11 I had the power steering pump replaced. Service notes say "filled and bled system". Do I need this service?

Fuel injection flush due: I have never heard of this, has anyone? Do I need it?

Any opinions would be helpful

I'd say it is questionable of you went in for an oil change and they decided to bleed the cooling system with no other symptoms. As for the PS system my guess is the they simply filled the reservoir and didn't bleed anything. What did they charge for that? And on a R53 no real need to flush your Fuel Injection if you use good quality, preferably Top Tier, fuel. And then each oil change a bottle of Techron to a half tank of gas should keep everything clean.

You should also learn to do the oil changes yourself and take the time to do a general check at the same time. Perhaps there is a club in your area and you can find some friends to do it all together.

It looks like the OP is talking about comparing the service notes from his water pump replacement/Inspection II with the latest suggestion that he flush the coolant, which would require another "bleed". I'm curious to hear if they charged anything for that service since it's nothing at all to bleed the coolant system. It does need to be done though. Same with the PS pump-to bleed it you just turn the wheels from one full turn to the other and then back again. I'd hope that'd be a free service that was noted by the tech for formality's sake.

Coolant flush - NO - not if they replaced the water pump less than 9 months ago. Originally a flush was recommended every 4 years for the
MINI, I'm not sure if they even officially recommend one anymore.

Power steering flush - NO - not if they replaced the power steering pump,
and filled and bled the system less than 6 months ago.

Fuel injection flush - NO - not needed.

Looks like I misread; I thought the question(s) had to do with whether the bleeding(s) were a necessary service, as opposed to the flushes. Sorry.

I wasn't even aware MINI's had inspection 1 and 2's. I thought that was only for legit BMW's. I know bimmers (and Mercedes) have scheduled maintenance just like that.

How many miles do you have?

Thank you all for your inputs.

cristo's answers came closest to what I was already guessing would be the best answer.

I asked about the need for the flushes when I got couple of price quotes on the other services that I will have to do soon (complete front brake job and rpl torn control arm bushings), and the consensus was the same from those shops, so I am going to wait on doing them for now.
