Pain in the butt to get fixed if they stop working.
You have a screen instead of a shade so the sun always beats down
on you at midday.
Possibility of leaks.

I think both of those Minis look nice. Mine has the sunroof and I'm also 6'4". The sunroof is a great effect at night or when you open it up, but it does bake the inside of the car on sunny days (and a black car is going to get hot, too). My sunroof has never malfunctioned or leaked, doesn't make noise. I do wish I didn't have the extra weight, though.

It is heavy (if you care about things like that, like for the track). On the Gen II it is noisy (lot of wind noise) and inconvienient to operate.

I like it on our Gen I; it operates nicely (one touch open and close) and is much quieter.

The two open differently. Gen I opens only one panel; gen II opens both panels in the first inch or so of travel and then closes the rear panel when the front panel is fully opened.

I like mine. It is a little noisey when opened but solid and quiet when closed.
No issues with it.

Sorry to burst the bubbles of everyone who recommended the black one....BUT...I bought the 2004 silver one!!! I like it a lot thus far. Took it out on the Autobahn today and got up to 100mph. Pretty smooth car. The ride is much stiffer than my 1998 BMW 528i...God only knows how old the shocks were on that thing.

Some people at work were telling me to put injector cleaners into the MINI regularly? Why would this be? It has 45,000 miles.

Good deal.. I think the injector cleaner is just a preventative measure, no big deal. I put some Cheveron techron in my tank every 3K miles.
Anyway, sounds like the car is tight and good to go. Hope you enjoy it and let us know if you do any mods to it.
