R50/53 HELP! with new MINI
HELLO! I am going to pick up my 2004 MINI Cooper on Monday. I was wondering if there was anything I need to know or ask my dealer before I drive it off the lot? Anything i might need done, also? THANKS!!
Most dealers will go through the whole car with you front to back, letting you know just about everything you need to know,... eg., accessories, functions, buttons, etc. Depending on the dealer, they will be quite thorough. Mine spent a good 30mins going through everything and answering all questions and setting me up with all I need to know and have. Also as well, Any recals or TSBs should be taken care of prior to giving the car to you. You should be good to go right off the lot.
On a side note, no vehicle is perfect. So there may be some problems later on. But that's why there's a warranty. But now that MINI dealers are becoming a little more closer between eachother, the drive out to have issues attending to, should not be of such a big problem as when they forst started out......depending where you live.
Good luck, and congrads on the MINI experience.
Cheers,

Make sure your steering wheel and alignment are straight. Take it for a good spin (straight and curvey) before signing on the dotted line.
I bought mine 400 miles away and the dealer and they closed by the time I got out of the city and on the highway (straight road) and realized the steering wheel is crooked about 5-10 deg to driving in a straight line. The nearest dealer is almost 300 miles away and since it is just annoying I will get it handled at the 10K service interval.
Beyond that I hope you enjoy the car as much as I have mine.
Cheers
