Hi guys! I just picked up my 1st Mini this past Saturday - 03 Cooper S british racing green with white roof/mirrors/wheels. It's loaded with Nav and dual moonfoofs and I am just absolutely in love with it
So I've been doing some research and what kind of mods do you reccommend to increase power and throttle response? What are the typical 1st things to do to an R53? Mine is bone stock at the moment and I plan to get a Borla exhaust, intake and reduction supercharger pulley. What other advice/tips do you have? Also do we have a for sale area here to buy new & used parts?

Congrats on your purchase. I've the same year/colour with the mods you want but went with the Milltek header and catback. What you are planning is a good start. I went a little further with the engine mods and then got a RMW tune. I'm now putting out a little over 190 whp, sufficient for my needs.
I'm now looking into a rear stabilizer bar, shocks, springs and getting rid of the runflat tyres. There are lots of posts here on all of the above, good hunting!

congrats!!! I got my first 2002 Mini S in March and am in love with the car....Car came with an intake and I cut a hole in the plastic firewall so it can breath better.... I have been fixing the aging parts a.k.a. motor mounts and heater core but this car has been nothing but fun!!! My next purchase is going to be a 15% pulley which doesnt require too many mods other than colder plugs, rear sway bar, sport springs...keeping it simple for awhile and waiting for a good price on a port and polished head...Yay Have fun and keep Motoring
