I remember reading about tinting the inside of the sunroof being bad due the heat buildup in the glass. Is it possible to tint the outside of the sunroof panels with regular black tint (as opposed to a flag or other graphic)? Will the tint hold up to highway-speeds? Will it hold up to being in direct sunlight (as opposed to having the glass to sheild it? Etc?

 

Why don't you try covering it with political bumper stickers?

Although you need not get a flag or graphic, I'd bet that Cooperflags could make you a roof coloured sunroof cover. Mine is body coloured and does havea pattern but it works great.

 

I went to 2 tints shops late last year to see about blacking out (5% tint) the sunroof...they both looked at my like im crazy and said that they did not tint sunroofs....i have not a clue why

 

What about making a sun shade?? I was thinking of making one that would fit for both front and back.

Anybody here of anybody already doing this? Just wondering how it's working out if they are.

 

My tint guy tinted my windows and my sunroff at 20% and I have not had a problem of any type. He did the inside.

I'm in San Diego area (Lakeside) and it has gotten up to about 100 degrees but I always keep it in the garage when I'm not driving it.
