My MCS is in the trusted hands of the Peabody boys for:
*throw-out bearing replacement
*idler pulley replacement
*pcv hose replacement
*ball joint replacement
*A-arm bushing or bearing loose
*xenon leveler replacements
*shift cable replacements (frozen)
...and various others.
It sounds like repairs of a vehicle with 50-70k miles. I only have 8400 miles! Jeeesh!
I left it with them Friday, they may be done Tuesday.

I had a lot of problems in my first year of ownership but really not much since then. Keep the faith, and hopefully your MINI turns the corner soon.

Bisch, what were the indications of needing a throw-out bearing replacement.
I have been wondering about a noise I hear after starting the MINI with the door open. When I depress the clutch it goes away, this is more noticeable when it's cold.
Was your PVC hose collapsing and making a noise too. Mine's an 03 just turned over 7,000 miles today.

Wow - you must be royally thrashing that car. Either that or it's some kind of hyper-lemon. Hard to believe all these things would fail in such a short period of time.

I wish I could say that it has been thrashed. That would make the repairs acceptable. However, the car has never been tracked, raced, autocrossed or abused. I have had only a few spirited moments with it. My commute to work is all but 1.8 miles, and I rarely leave town.
I am hoping that this will be the last of the problems for a long time.

Wish you good luck Bisch! You deserve the freedom
from troubles many of us have enjoyed.

God speed.
