Noticed on the MINI Cabrio for 05' that the big speedometer is no longer their even on the models without the NAV system. Does this mean that all MINI's will have the steeringwheel Tach/Speedo's? If so, I'm glad I got an early MINI with the big speedometer... one of my favorite british retro things in the interior. I also like the look of the center tach with the guage pod attached with the small gauges on either side. Plus my kids love it, they like to see how fast daddy's drivin.

What does everyone else think about the big speedo vs the steering wheel mounted speedo?

Nope.

The three gauge set-up in the center spot is an option for '05. It moves the speedo over next to the tach, as in the current NAV set up.

The standard set-up will continue to be big speedo in the center, lone tach over the steering column. The only proper set-up for a purist, IMHO.

Yes, as stated above it's an option.

Ahh, good thanks for clearing that up. Would hate to see the center speedo go away.

I love the center mounted speedo too, its a cool feature that in my mind helps define what this car is all about.
I don't like the nav. system mounted in the center, nor the speedo and tach over the steering column. I fell in love with the mcs as soon as I drove one, almost 9 months of ownership now and I'm still loving it.
