I wonder if your tire picked up some road debris and compromised the light unit from the inside of your wheel well. This could have happened a while ago giving time for rust to build up. It could have been just a minor crack allowing moisture in. I would like to see the light from the other side.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Best of luck,

Andy

>>Yeah but take into account the dealer labor rate to install the wheel arch piece at around $90+ an hour.

You don't need the dealer for this fix. If you can work a screwdriver and a wrench then that is all you need. No fancy tools or know how needed for this fix. Save the cash and have a nice dinner. If it was Detroit it would cost ten times that much after the dealer screws it up three times.

Both of my side markers have melted and busted out of the bumper. They replaced one, (the other one was OK then) and now the new one exploded too... I should take some pics. They said it was because of the aero-kit, however the same thing happend on my stock bumper, so altogether I had 5 side markers melt and/or warp and bust out of the casing. Wil be visiting the dealer soon, it's really annoying.

Fixed! Replaces contacts, lighting, trim and reflector.

MINI has the broken parts for anylizing. I hope this doesnt happen to me again or anyone else for that matter!

Im happy with patrick minis perfomance, i know I was a bit anxious always calling them asking whats up. Mike is very helpful, always has been with all the questions I have had.

Back to motoring and not gas guzling (I rented a Dodge Dakota pick up truck, the V8 from enterprise via patrick mini) thing was fun, but as soon as i saw my baby, i felt the love again They even updated the software for me Feels better to tell you the truth, no stumbling like I had before. Although it could be that I havent driven her for a whole week! Thats the longest i've gone without driving her since I took a trip to alaska!

I hope they get back to you and let you know what the heck happened. BTW, I was thinking it looked like melted wax, and read that they apply a cavity wax to the hollow sections for corrosion proofing. Is it possible that's what was burning? Just a though.
