Aux fan high speed doesn't work! Help please
2003 Mini Cooper 02/03
Ok so I've read pretty much every thread om this topic but still can determine the solution. The high speed ok my radiator fan doesn't come on and my low speed rarely comes on. The result is over heating in traffic and cold air from the a/c only when going fast. Please help! I'll start from the begining...
1. Had only high speed fan due to bad resistor - replaced in Jan 2011
2. Replaced a/c compressor and drier in April 2011
3. At this point all was working fine
4. June 2011 came the problem. No a/c when going at slow speeds and overheating
Heres what I've checked...
1. All fuses. Visual inspection. None are black
2. Replaced coolant temperature sensor
3. Checked fan relay and switched with a/c relay. By checked I mean I used a volt meter to test the ohms passing through. From looking at the diagram on the relay I tested what looks to be the main path before the switch is thrown. I checked all relays and all were the same.
4. The power supply coming to the fan reads at 14v
Any help is appreciated. At this point I think I need another fan. It seems that if the temperature sensor is accurate and the fans getting enough power it should work. The only other thing I was thinking of is the pressure switch.

More info on car...
R50? R53? year? Mods?
The high speed usually will not run very much if a car is running properly...the low speed is usually adequate unless there is 0 airflow.
I would check the coolant level..low coolant or needing to be bled from running low and having a air-bubble could cause some of the above issues......
So the low speed fan works?
On pre 2005 mini's the PS fan and the rad fan were on the same fuse...the ps fan would frequently get stuck...causing the fuse to blow..stopping the rad fan on hi+low.....resulting on overheating in traffic/no ac when stopped.
some cars were modified by the dealers as part of a campain...but many were not (if you had a ps fan replaced under warranty, the work was often done).

Are you 100% sure the low speed works?
Next check the fuses...some are kinda hidden under the bonnet (some are even nor visible, and must be pulled out if I rememet correctly due to placement) .I would suspect both the high and low would be out if it was fuse related...
short of a bad/stuck relay for the fan (I hope you looked for this), i'm out of ideals beyond corrupt programming/computer programming.

Edit....yeah...since the mini has gone mainstream the avg user/driver is a bit different.
See you already did the above...sounds like you did all the simple home mechanic stuff...
