I am sure this is on NAM somewhere but I can't find it. I have a 2005 Cooper.

My airbag light on my dash goes on when someone is sitting in the passenger side front seat. The "off" light stays on also.

What could be causing this?

 

Lots of posts on here about it, trying to get info myself, seems that 02-04 had faulty wiring harness, 05+ have weight sensor mats that fail. The early ones are supposedly covered by a warranty extension for 10/150K. The 05, which is what mine is and has the same problem is not as far as I can tell, but some people have been able to sweet talk dealer into fixing for free.
