So after a leak in my coolant expansion tank and not watching my levels, here I stand before a ripped open Maren, replacing her head gasket. My question to the community is: what else should I replace now that I have her all opened up? If anyone else has ever done this, what gaskets need replacing? I am ordering a new water pump and thermostat housing right now. What should I have done in terms of cleaning? Please let me know, I want to have her up and running better than before

 

Are you replacing the thermostat and housing? Probably a good idea to do both.
