Question about cruise control... I was perusing the options list again the other day and it got me wondering if I ordered what I thought I ordered.

Are the MFSW and cruise control independent options?

Or, if you order the MSFW, does the car therefore have cruise control? That's what I thought when I ordered, but now I'm not sure that's the case.

I got my production date yesterday (jan 31), so it's too late to change anything anyway, but just checking so I'm prepared for the inevitable...whatever that may be.

Thanks,
PBFoot

I believe that if you are getting the MFSW that you automatically get the Cruise control...mine came that way.

cheers

The $350 MFSW option includes cruise control. It works so so. You have to kinda keep a eye on it. Sometimes I'll find I've gained 6 or so mph from my intended speed.

The MFSW is nice though. The volume control alone nearly make it worth it.

Yeppers - Multi-Function steering wheel (both 2 and 3 spoke) include cruise control and audio functions.

Ah, good! Thanks for the speedy replies!

Don't use the cruise that often, but when I do, it's nice to have.

The cruise control and MFSW are synonymous and using my MCS as a daily driver, I find the cruise control very accurate. Using it every morning going to work and check it’s accuracy using the OBC, it varies only 2 to 3 MPH + or - fluctuation of the set speed. Only upgrades and down slopes will change the actual speed of the car, but that’s normal for any. Other than hills and down grades I find it 100% on the set speed. I have the police force of two cities that will verify that because they have nothing else to do at 3 AM other than point their radar guns at me as I cruise control down the road.

I have found that I can get the cruise to set itself much more steadily at the desired speed if I make sure that I have the engine pulling smoothly on flat ground while neither accellerating nor decellerating. I keep my foot on the gas and let the cruise slowly take over as I decrease pressure on the throttle. It only varies by 2-3 mph either way and I think that is very reasonable accuracy.

Anyway, works great for me. I typically set it right at the speed limit so that I know I am speeding if I have my foot on the pedal

When I last checked MINIUSA they had changed MFSW to MFSW/Cruise Control to ensure that folks knew what they were ordering. Cars without cruise are often hard to sell.
