Just bought a 2002 Mini Cooper 97.5 ci for my 16 year old daughter....what are the things I need to check or look at? Is there anything that requires more attention? Is there a maintenance schedule somewhere on here? Also need a air filter box top...used is fine.

Advise to look at door seals on bottom door sill.
Pull up seal and inspect for moisture, possible rust area.

Mileage?

No just a Cooper,,,,Auto trans....about 165000 miles. Where can I decode the vin to tell me everything about car?

Was the tranny ever replaced? When was the last time the fluid was flushed? These are my main concerns as the CVT in them is very expensive to replace ($7-8k).
