ok..i think this might be a first for a posting.
But i am curious about where i would find the car's exterior paint code.
And will any body shop be able to access this code. Ya see if ya wanna paint those
flares over the wheels ya need to have the exact color!









waiting on my INDI blue "S" with sport pkge, pan-roof, 17" s-lites, and heated seats of course, in Canada EH!!

 

I am under the impression that only MINI/BMW dealerships can match the paint for you. That's where most are having the black trim painted body color and the Aero kits painted.

 

My dad has a paint mixing system at his body/paint shop. DuPont's ChromaBase paint system has the color codes and mix formulas out already...not sure about PPG or any other paint companies, but any good auto paint supply house should be able to convert one formula to another (ie DuPont to PPG...PPG to DuPont...etc.) Hope that helps some.

Well i'll have to check into this wit hthe guy at Acklands-Grainger body shop supply's to see if they have the codes...and idea how the codes go..like 46578(ppg), or wa 382e(gm), b9730(dup)..i suppose if you tell them mini you would be able to go by color name since the car company is small (literally) and that should be sufficient!! :smile:
