What is the normal range for Water Temperature?

Hey everyone,
I just installed my water temp gauge over the weekend and I want to know if the water temp range is okay. It seems to fluctuate between 180-200, but hovers mostly around 180-190. I am not sure if this is normal or not. I just drove it around a couple blocks and then back home. I haven't been able to find out what is the normal operating temperature and if any fluctuation is normal. Thanks in advance.

Fluctuation is normal. OEM gauges tend to eliminate normal variability to sooth the minds of the masses. Mine generally runs at 193 which makes sense given the 190 thermostat (though I swear it used to run in the 180's), but can easily hit the 200s in stop and go. The fan goes on low speed at 221F, off at 214F.
