Hello everyone, yesterday i purchased an R5/emx scan tool. I do not have check engine light on, i am simply using tooooo much gas and i was looking to receive some codes from the scan tool so that i see what is going on in there...

i followed the directions to the key

- turn key on, not the engine
- plug in r5/emx
- Fc (fault code) will appear press go for the codes...

however the third step never happened...the tool never light up, as if i had never plugged it in. no indication that there was something in this cylindric tool that would make it go on...has anyone experienced something similar? is there another "trick"? i really need to get to those codes

 

Google the scan tool home page and then call thier support telephone number. They should be able to help you.
