Winking Headlights

Anybody else have headlights that kind of wink/blink while driving? Not completely off, just kind of a light dimming for a second.

Are you running any non-stock electronics (stereo, lighting, etc)? What model Mini do you have (xenon / halogen)?

I have an 2002 MCS Ive noticed when driving, the headlights will dim for a split second then be fine. I did install an after market head unit.

I think the blinking you're seeing is the xenons adjusting themselves. I have a 500w amp in the car and my headlights don't dim at all :]

It seems like it may be the ballast. Try swapping bulbs and see if the problem follows the bulb or stays with the ballast. If it stays with the ballast then just replace the faulty ballast. If it follows the bulb then replace both bulbs.
