R50/53 05 6 speed
Also remember, the ratio's are diffent..resulting is a very different feel...you have less tourque on a Cooper, so it will likely feel much less sporty...
A folks that have done the swap have posted feedback.
I second the WMW suggestion..he should have tons of parts from cars hecparts out for you!!
Okay thanks. I am not to worried about the money/ parts, heres why I really have 2 options
1. Let a shop do it and pay out the A$$ for the same piece of crap
2. Getrag and DIY with a buddy and a fresh keg!
I am estimating it will cost close to the same, from what I have been reading its the 6 speed thats going to cost the most.

If you can get the parts you need off a wrecked car..rearended preferably, you can save some $$. Heck buy a parts car..take what you need...sell the others maybe...if you have the space...
If not, just tell WMW the swap you are doing...I bet he could give you a pretty good estimate off the top of his head...and could assemble a kit for you...save you some $$ on shipping.
Heck..some of the later midlands have proven pretty durable...drop one in from a wreck...also a bit of a risk...it could happen again...
