Wiper Fluid Problems

It's been really cold here lately. I refilled my wiper fluid, but I think the line was frozen from being empty? After a couple hours of trying to get the fluid to spray it finally started working. Now it's not working again. Is there a problem with this? Any suggestions? Thanks.

How cold is cold? Some wiper juice isn't really good once the temp gets to a certain point. The winter formula is best, but even that has it's limits. Once warm enough to move the old stuff out, assuming your new fluid is OK at the temp, it should be fine again.

One of my co-workers bought a jug of blue windshield washer juice at WalMart one winter, it wasn't till he had already poured it in that he read on the front of the jug "Good down to 32*"

Yep, that stuff was gonna freeze just like the blue colored water it was!

Gotta watch what you buy these days!

Wiper Fluid

We did the exact same thing. Our Mini is always parked outside. So now we have to hope the temp goes above 35 so it starts to flow again. Also hope we did not burn up the pump while trying to get it to work.

It helps if you park the car in such a direction that the sun (if any) will be on the hood of the car.
De-ice the washers as much as possible.

Remember you can always use a hair dryer to gently warm the washers back to normal temperatures.

Remember that driving also generates heat, so that should de-ice the washers as well.

I bought a certain blend that is made for the winter, which supposedly works up to -20 F. They charge double for it in the winter...
