Front wheel drive! The wheelie bar might look interesting, but I think everyone will know it's just for show.

Didn't MINIUSA have a MINI that you could configure (before you entered the official MINIUSA site) that had a wheelie bar? (seem to recall a racoon tail and a Land Roveresque roof rack with rally lights too).

more help (off topic)
you sig shows this: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co.../aaw.sized.jpg
if you add a couple image tags the picture will show up. Also, change it from the sized version to the thumbnail.

[IMG*]https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/albums/album07/aaw.thumb.jpg[/*IMG]
Copy the above line into your sig and remove BOTH the "*"

you'll get this

Is this for show or is it to be functional?
In tractors it is for safety reasons-

Common on motorcycles and dragsters

This is the closest I could find to a Mini with chrome wheelie bars-

Before I tell you that I think wheelie bars would be the dumbest mod ever, I'll give you the opportunity to show me how you get your MINI to pop a wheelie!

I think submarines are cool too, but I'm not installing a periscope in my MINI any time soon

That being said, do what you gotta do!

I would say I stand corrected, but I've done burnouts in reverse and my rear wheels did not lift off the ground.

It might be possible to pop a wheelie for real if your MINI lost 500 pounds and gained 100 HP.
Right now I can't even get my wheels to spin.

Actually wheel spin and burnouts are a bad thing. You want your tires to GRIP and go not spin

Well, if you have an empty parking lot and some time to kill the night before getting new tires, wheelspin can be fun. But now that I have much better tires installed, I am doing my best to use the rubber for what it is meant to do!

If your sole purpose for this car is drag racing....fine install a wheelie bar. Otherwise, don't be the joke of the town. Yes, people, Front wheel drive drag cars with serious hp, do in fact, use wheelie bars. It helps reduce weight transfer off the front wheels. Visit a track sometime during Import races...

Bisch,
I was all ready to write in a reply until I came across yours. Thanks for enlightening everyone on the real use of wheelie bars.

Put them on! You'd definitely have some people thinking twice about racing you.

Bisch is correct. In a front wheel drive car "wheelie" bars are meant to reduce weight transfer by effectively extending the wheelbase and therefore reducing the effect of the moment of inertia generated by acceleration. In this case the wheelie bars wheels must be contacting the ground or very close to it in order to maintain full contact of the front wheels with the ground. They work well on the track with the correct suspension and dampers, but on a street driven car all they would be good for is laughs for other people.

In my opinion a stock appearing car with hidden performance mods is a lot more fun than an agressively modded car with nothing to back it up.

Next thing you'll want is a giant dragster wing on the back like those ricers. PLEASE don't dumb the MINI up like that.

Not if they come out the front.

The rear wing and body kit/wheel flares are functional in this case and for SPEED in that MINI. Great for a long track.
I like that bonnet with reverse direction air vents. I think I see different wider? rims on the rear and air brake ducts in the front.

Thanks WCC

It's True, it's a speed function, but whos to say that any of us can't apply this look to our coopers?

I think it's great and aggressive

The Rear Flares look like they are from the MINIMANIA Euro Kit, the front looks completely reworked.

I believe I also saw this EXACT MINI for sale in Europe. About $90k USD

That is also a rear wheel drive RACE CAR, so the giant wing has a purpose.

Excuse me... Do you think I (we) are stupid?

Yes it is a rear wheel race car... Good Eye. Maybe you should give the engine specs?
Wait, I will

This does not discount the fact that that rear spoiler looks good and agressive.

No reason to be a jerk WestCoast. I was just pointing out that giant wings and wheelie bars have no place on a street car. Chill out on the caffeine buddy.
