R50/53 Haynes Vs. Bentley
for twice as much money you can get twice as much information
does that say Bent' is better?
I've answered a number of questions here that no Bentley owner responded to
and recently a question was framed around Bentley not having the information . . .
Most home wrench turners are going to OK with Haynes
but if you WANT IT ALL go Bentley

Both. Different books usually have something unique to offer. I have only the Bentley book right now, as it's the workshop manual.
For my MGB, I have the Bentley book, the Haynes book, and even the old Chilton book.

I have both, and prefer the Haynes. The Bentley is four times the size and weight of the Haynes, yet hardly has any more useful information. Here is Ian Cull (GBMINI)'s blog entry on the Haynes: http://www.gbmini.net/wp/2005/11/the...ual_for_minis/. When I look for information, I usually start first with the BMW TIS (service manual) and BMW WDS (wiring diagrams) on my computer, then the Haynes, and finally the Bentley.
