So I finally got my black on black MC with 6 miles on it last tuesday. It is awesome; I drove 750 miles in 5 days since and loving every minute of it. I am very very happy. Only stalled twice! ops: Suprised a bunch of my buddies one by one by just pulling up their house in it. Every one of them calls in "Cute" and it drives me nuts!

I do have one complaint/issue already: the mid range speaker on the right hand side door is making a crackling noise. the noise goes away if I press my hand against the mesh cover, so it seems that there is something loose in the casing and vibrating. This should be covered under warrantee right? Has anyone had this problem already?

Anyway, still very happy.

***Speaker/stereo issue? No

Your solution: take in & let them figure it out

Yes, many have had that speaker problem. The dealer can fix it, or you can. Remove the door panel and put adhesive-backed felt strips around the front edge of the speaker where it makes contact with the back of the speaker grill.

A search should find all the details.

Congratulations on your new MC. I've had my CR/W MC for a couple of months now and I love it. The dealer should fix your speaker for you no problem.

As far as the "cute" comments, you're just gonna have to learn to live with it.

Happy Motoring........

Thank you everyone for your warm welcomes.

I will be taking the car in to the dealer to have the speaker problem fixed as soon as I can. I travel for work so I have been away from my baby since sunday night - it has been really tough.

Another problem that I have and didn't mention earlier is that the day I went into the show room to pick up my car, I didn't a very close look-over to make sure things were as they should have been. Right away I noticed swirlight micro stratches ALL OVER the car - any horizontal surface like the bonnet and the roof is scratched up, so when the car is clean and in good lighting, swirling scratches can be seen. very dissapointing - but for some reason i didn't make as big a deal as i should have at the time - maybe cause i had been waiting for 3 months for the day and i just wanted to drive the car away already.

I hope the scratches don't develop into more problems as the car ages. any thoughts?

vano,

It's completely normal not to notice certain small things at the time of pickup, no manner how hard you try. By all means show this to the dealership and I would expect them to take care of it. Of course, you might not want them messing with it anymore. I'm sure the scratches will wax out....many people on this site love Zanio (sp?) but I've never used it.

I had a white spot and some swirl marks on the door of my CR/W Cooper that I didn't notice when I picked it up. The dealer, (Roadshow) is over 200 miles from me. Took the car back about a month later and they fixed the problem completely. But only after I went from the "Service Advisor" to the Service Manager. The SA could more properly be called the SD, for Service Denied.

Good luck and not to worry,

R.E.
