I just bought my new mini and am loving it. Silver with black, premium package, leather, DSC, foglamps. The sticker price was just as I had researched from "building my car" on the Mini web site. The BMW dealer did not inflate the price from what was on the Miniusa.com site. I expected that it would be futile to haggle the price down. Was I wrong in this assumption? Would have there been any point to try to talk the price down even a few hundred dollars as all good american car buyers should do??

I don't think you were wrong. At this point you prob. wouldn't have much luck trying to work them down off msrp. In about a year there should be a little room to play but at the moment it would be very tough to do. Besides your one of the few that has one and to pay msrp. You did good.

Always my strategy -- but the supply of this vehicle is very limited. I count myself very lucky for catching one of the launch Canadian Minis. Did my homework -- looke like a winner. Iy you paid invoice and got what you wanted its a deal. I drove the car and was amazed - it really is a Mini BMW!

I've got my mini cooper on order now, MINI Oakvile in Toronto sells their cars right off the MSRP list provided by MINI Canada. We also had to sign an agreement not to sell our car to anyone but the dealer for the first year of ownership. Something I didn't mind doing seeing as it prevents the speculators from doing what they did to the New Beetle. I'm getting mine in August (by my own choice) Red with the white roof,Moonroof/Sport package, climate control, heated windshield/ seats. I can hardly wait.

 

Good Luck in waiting... I know I couldn't wait that long. I was lucky enough to get my Mini last week.(Ordered it in June).. I bought it from the dealer in Buffalo. They were super to work with. MSRP all the way. But after hearing stories about the West Coast and the bump in the price... I feel very lucky. I'm looking forward to getting on the QEW to Toronto this summer..

I'm looking at buying the new MINI Cooper too and was wondering how much is the final tag price on your with all the options, etc. Are you leasing or buying? I kinda built my own MINI on the MINIUSA.com website, since that option isn't available on the Canadian site. Since I'm looking at basically the same options you got on yours, I was just wondering about the final cost of your "baby"

I'm at work right now give me a few hours and when I get home I'll enter the whole price list. I wish the Canadian mini site was more along the lines of the US site as well. I commented to MINI Canada about that on the contact forms on the site. You should do the same if you have the time. Who knows is enough of us say we want more Canadian info on the site maybe they will give us more. For example Xenon lights are standard on all Canadian minis!!!

The list messed up all my careful spacing. Just so you know the first # is the Cooper price and the second # is the Cooper S price
