I was approved for online financing, but being the thrifty Scot I am, I am shopping around......what kind of rates are MINI offering for someone with excellent credit, married, homeowner etc,

Whoops... looks like your question accidently got in the audio section.

I don't know what MINI is currently offering... but back in mid August it was just over 7%. Not so good. The majority of people are going through credit unions and getting about 5-6% depending on the loan term.

I saw a thread that mentioned Peoples First - i went there and they gave me 5.24% and i even had a 'questionable' remark on my report but otherwise it was spotless.
Needless to say, I love them since they listened to my situation and did not penalize me like everyone else.

MINI has some of the highest rates and they know it. My finance guy says he sends people to other banks just because MINI is so high and won't budge

Have you inquired for home equity loan to finance your car?. It has some advantages like being federal tax deductable and low rate.
