So I've had my 04 r50 for 2.5 years or so and earlier this year I had some charge issues which turned into a full-on breakdown (loss of most power, power steering, etc). Originally I thought it was simply a dead battery (stock mini battery). In a bind, I bought a battery from autozone (duralast or something). Turns out that it wasnt my battery, but the alternator. I had the alternator replaced with a rebuilt/refurbished part. 4 months later, I'm having the same issues as of yesterday.

My question is has anybody had the same kind of issue and it have more to do with wiring, or a short? Two failed alternators is kind of shitty, especially if something else is causing them to fail. As of right now, the charge light is on, and its as if the battery isn't being charged.

Im not much of a DIYer, but having some insight when taking it to my mechanic will help me understand the cost vs damage of it all.
