R50/53 Expansion Tank - how do I remove it?

Expansion Tank - how do I remove it?
2004 MCS. Trying to remove the expansion tank. What is the secret? I have removed the single nut at the top, and the overflow hose, but can't lift the tank out of the bottom bracket that holds it against the firewall, after which I planned to remove the lower hose. Help!
