Invisa-shield

After seeing how my wife's Mini has a few paint chips in the front of the car from rocks, I was curious about getting an invisa-shield for my Mini as it's spotless in the front.

I called my dealer and they wanted $599 for it though! I know dealers charge a lot, but $599 for a $100 part plus installation time? It can't take THAT long can it?

Should I get this done elsewhere or is this the norm? Any suggestions?

PS: I just got a small crack in her windshield... anything I can do to treat it before she notices :( ?

I'm not sure how much mine cost...got it when I got my 05 new, but it does a great job. I have upper, and lower, but if I had to do it again, I would not get the lower...the bumper protector.
I would also recommend getting headlight protectors...they are an easy diy, looks like a think invishield for your headlights...keeps them clear, prevents yellowing, and stops dammage from rock chips!

That's less than I paid for mine, but I've seen people getting it done for as low as $400. It depends on where you live.

You can call around to local tint and/or detailing shops to find out more. Most of the dealers farm it out to a local tint guy anyway.

For the windshield, if it's a star chip or crack, it can be filled pretty inexpensively. Call Safelite!

Call up some of the other dealers and find out who does it for them, then call the guy and ask him how much. There is always a mark-up. I saved $125 over what the dealer wanted and from the same guy.
