Dip-Stick measurements?

I'd like to ask a little favor of y'all, if I may: My crappy stock dipstick finally let go entirely (big surprise), and I'm not exactly keen on shelling out $80 for a new one at the moment... But I'm worried about running without a way of checking oil level, as my engine has been known to go through oil. I would greatly appreciate it of anyone would be so kind as to give me a measurement from the shoulder of the handle to the high and low marks - Hopefully that way I can rig something that will at least let me read the oil level every so often. Conversely, if anyone happens to have a stock R53 dipstick laying around they'd be willing to part with for a reasonable price, I'm more than willing to take it off your hands...

Here's a link that may help you. Good luck. Also Moss Mini has oem replacements for about 14.00.

Or just change our oil and add the proper amount of oil, then you know the proper level and make a replacement.

Ooo, very cool - I did not know Moss had such an extensive selection of OEM parts. Aren't I observant?
