Export 2004 Mini Cooper S to Germany?

I have been the proud owner of a 2004 Canadian Mini Cooper S for the last 4.5 years. I am in the process of moving back to Europe and if I can get my firm to pay for the relocation (still under discussion) I would like to take my Mini with me.

Does anybody know of any particular modifications that would need to be made to the car to pass the Technical Inspection [TUV or whatever the German equivalent is called]. I have heard horror stories of other people (not Mini's though) having to change headlights because the US / Canadian Xenon's are not approved in Europe. Any advice you can give me or any suggestions as to who to contact would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Phil

I know when I took my car to England, the rear fog-light conversion was a pain in the @$$. I had a Nissan Maxima which didn't have amber turn signals. The mechanic did some serious wiring to make it work. The end result was that I lost my reverse lights. This should be a simple fix for your Mini. As for your headlights, I think they are fine. The US Military ships American cars all the time to Europe. I would do a Google search for Military bases in Germany. There could be one in the area that you’re going to. There are several shops that convert hundreds of cars a week. Since Mini's are already manufactured in Europe, it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks - I will look into the German Airforce bases because I don't want to get stuck with a large bill when I import the car. Since it was manufactured in Europe I suspect that it should be imported easily and cheaply. Appreciate you response.

Cheers
