R50/53 Steering Wheel Center Badge - Any Aftermarket Replacement?
Steering Wheel Center Badge - Any Aftermarket Replacement?
The center badge on my recently purchased 2002 is dinged up a bit. When I bought the car, I figured no problem...I'd just buy a new badge and replace it. Not that easy, as it turns out.
There are some good threads on this subject that go back a few years, but at that point there was no clear solution. From what I can tell, what looks like a solid piece of plastic that can pop out of the center of the steering wheel is somehow integrated into the leather. From those threads, the only dealer solution was to replace the wheel.
Have any of you run into a fix for this? Closest I've come so far is this product from Moss Mini http://www.mossmini.com/Shop/ViewPro...eIndexID=72291, but I'm not crazy about either of the two design options.
Thanks, kids.

Unfortunately, the only thing you are going to be able to do is to replace the airbag module, or cover it up.
If it bothers you enough, maybe this is the appropriate time to switch to a 3-spoke steering wheel.
