>>Time to pull out my Country Joe and the Fish albums.

Do you still have CJ&F albums? I have the complete catalog on vinyl. I still pull them out once in a while...but now I am dating myself!

As far as the name change, it's unfortunate but we can all adjust. After all, it's the content of the site that's most important. All of you wacky MINI owners are the key to the site - whatever the name!!

MOTOR ON!

In the end, change is inevitable, but this change was unnecessary. Shame on BMW/MINI.

>>I too had a little trouble with the acronym initially but given that I work on the site every day it has become something different than the other Nam

OK this is too late, but ... what if the acronym had been spelled backward? Then you'd call it MAN (Mini Addicts of North America). Unless, of course, those bullies object to the name Mini too. (I thought they objected to the combined name of Mini Cooper)combined

Having said that, I cannot for the life of me fathom how the "other site" got away with their name.

The original issue was that we were using MINI COOPER together. After discussing this over time the issue evoled into the use of MINI since we were related to the automotive side of things. Given that...using MINI was no longer an option. While it would have been nice to carry the acronym tradition in some way, I wanted to create a good clean separation between the site and BMW/MINI and hence the new name (the name was the primary consideration rather than the acronym). Personally I'm just glad to have this behind us so that we can start moving ahead again.

Best regards,

Mark
