Burning smell when engine at 5k RPMs

This is my first post here. I own 2005 MCS with auto tranny. I noticed that if get RPMs more then 4500 I feel burning smell in the cabin. It seems related to the supercharger temperatures. I was planning to get 15% pulley installed, but now I have doubts about that and am thinking that before I do any mods I need to fix problems at hand. I got a car with 53k miles and as of right now I have replaced spark plugs and wires. Also replaced crankcase vent valve - car was "quacking" and had a minor oil leak around oil pan gasket and drain plug (that one was replaced during my first oil changed). My best guess in regards to a smell is just general dirt on the engine and intercooler which I was planning to take off and clean. But if somebody have any other ideas on what to look at I would appreciate your input.

Quacking?? And safe to say you smell it right?

Once you get it all strightend out do the 15 or mabe 17%...with the auto you will never get the rpm's high enough to hurt the supercharger ot the water pump. Being an auto, and having an oil leak, I would keep a close eye on the oil level (check white roof radio or motoringfile) there have been lots of reports of major leaks in r53's recently. Good luck with duck...er quacking problem. Rember to smile...all will be ok soon and then happy motoring again!!

Checking oil level weekly and on the ground - so far nothing changes from the level perspective and no oil on the ground either. After replacement of vent valve no quacking anymore. I think I will dedicate weekend to big project of replacement of engine mount to TSW, 15% pulley and cleaning of the intercooler. That should help... I hope

Check your valve cover gasket for leaks on the back side, oil could seep down to the exhaust manifold.
