No, I don't mean fastest in a straight line (everyone knows red used to be fastest, until bright yellow came to town), but fastest to be built. See, I ordered my MCS in dark silver, which I think is somewhat rare, compared to say chili red or indy blue. Honda (and I assume most other OEMs) build cars in lots. So they'll build 60 silver, 120 black, 60 blue, etc. If you order a less common color (colour?) will it take longer while they stage up that build lot?

I heard that they dont build them in lots by color...anyone know if this is true? Oh and seat_boy dark silver isnt a rare color for the MCS I see them everywhere!

 

When they make a run of chilli reds, they have to shut down the assembly line to let it "cool off".

IB/B definitely fastest combo And, from what I hear on the vine, not available for too much longer, so it will be an exclusive kind of thing soon. I just really hope they dont let the paint fume sniffing bloke in oxford that came up with solid gold designate it's replacement...

That's for sure. I'd say DS is one of the most popular for the S, since like EB it is only available on the S and also DS was used in the majority of the early ads from MINI.
