Not bad if they are on a Subaru or Mitsui

I agree. If you like them, get them. On certain cars they look pretty cool. If you want my opinion, I don't think that they are necessary on a MINI. The choice is yours!

Neon looks great on a beer sign and I've seen it done right on a few Hot Rods, but I don't think it would look good on a Mini.

They're a great Cop magnet. They are handy when ya drop your keys at night. You can fit right in at your local custom ride hang out, may require bolting on a large wing and turning your ball cap backwards. Add "dude" to every other word in your speech pattern.

Just kidding... whatever blows your dress up is cool.

HMMMMmmmm...

Ricer cars have neons. I was actually appauled to see them on some classic cars a week ago. They were driven by older gentlemen who I guess did not know better.

Please do not do that to your mini...

(for real do what you want, I just do not like them at all)

If you like the look, go for it!
Since you asked for opinions, though, I say they´d look tacky on a MINI.
That´s just me, though..

To each his or her own, but I think the MINI is eye-catching enough out of the box.

I do not like them.
I will not put them under my Mini
Not in a house
Not with a mouse
Not here, or there
Not anywhere.
I do not like neon under a Mini

I thought we weren't supposed to use the "r-word" anymore.

Anyhoo, I vote no on neons. And Dodge Neons too, while we're at it.

IMHO, unless the neon light is the result of imanent vertical lift-off from your anti gravity chassis thrusters, it's silly. Kinda like the flamn exhaust in 2F2F Flames from turbo belch are cool, however. The only neon (or electo-luminiscent) light that's way cool are on Le Man racer's and fighter jet's ID. Don't do it to the already cool Mini Mini's aren't racing in Le Mans (yet) nor are they fighter jets.

I'm gonna put them on my MINI when I get the time. I have an exhaust pipe on my MINI that lights up and ALOT of people from the MINI club I met last weekend thought it was cool! You don't have to own a "ricer" car to have them. Just be sure to not have them on when driving down the road, they are a cop magnet for sure!

Unless ya gonna be looking for contact lenses on the pavement, I see no practicality in neon underbody lighting. Let's face it neon is passe. It was cool back in 1997, but now only the kids in Iowa and Nebrasks haven't seen it.

HEY!!! Don't leave out Minnesota!! I'm offended.

We haven't seen it either.

Usually the minus-40 degree snotsickles dropped off
the land-rover in front of you is enough to take care
of any underbody lighting you have installed

I think a neon that matched the color of your mini would be cool for shows oh yea and you have to be lowered! otherwise it looks tacky

^ thats true you should have a low car to pull off the look right...also when installing them make sure none of the neon bulb is showing just the glow from under the car. It really looks tacky when the bulb is hanging under the car or if the car is really high. I think getting a color to match your car would be cool. I saw a red MCS at a import car show that a neon company used to show off their product, it looked really cool!

Sure ricers have neons but they also have clear tail lights...I dont really like clear tail lights on some minis, I think thats rice

My opinion:

I'd shoot you if I saw you... (with EVO VIII or WRX/STI, or any performance oriented car)

I'd laugh at you if it were a car other than a MINI

Yes, be different, but only to a point. Some things you can be very different with, like clothing, but when it comes to cars there is a definate limit, whether you like neons or not, and that limit excludes neons, especially on MINIs.

Neons are OK if you have a show car, but they do tend to break a lot. We install them every so often at my shop, ans I've seen a bunch come back broken, due to rocks, etc. We've even had them come broke out of the box! If you do decide to go with it, get the Street Glow setup. Seems to be the best.

As far as how it looks, definitely not for me. I consider it more of a show thing.

Not my style. I'm the first to admit that this is one mod I just don't get.
