Turning GPS Off at Startup

Hello,

I have the GPS package on my '04 MCS but I only got it so that I'd have the gauge cluster on my steering wheel. I rarley ever use GPS and find it annoying that I have to "Accept" it each time the car turns on. Is there any fix/update anyone knows of that has the GPS set to off as a default?

Thank you!

If you upgrade to newer Navigation firmware, the warning automatically dismisses after about 8 seconds. The latest version of firmware is v32. I think the auto dismiss was introduced around v26, sometime in 2006. You can upgrade with a firmware installer CD that you can burn from an image. Look in this forum: http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/navigation-system/. There are also installation instructions scattered around on NAM. Try searching on v32.
