Driver seat slides back and forth

Yesterday for the first time (since this is a new car for us) I reclined the driver seat since it was fully raised which made for a rather awkward driving position. Well, this morning I noticed that now the seat gently slides back and forth an inch or so, as if gliding on an air pillow. It goes forward an inch when slowing for stoplights and then slides back upon accelerating. The seats are manual, not power and not heated either.
Has anyone had this problem? Is there a fix for it?

I checked and made sure that the seat is properly latched on the bottom and it is. The sliding seems to be allowed by the inflating pillow(?) under the seat which adjusts the height. It's almost like a little bit of air escapes.

Hmmm- I have Lounge Leather seats and they height adjust in small increments. Not sure about the air pillow feel as my seats are fairly rigid and secure. What kind of seats do you have? I'm sure someone on this forum can help you out as I'm new to the Mini as well.

Standard leather seats. Really nothing fancy. 06 MCS
I just tested the passenger seat and it kinda sorta does the same thing, but much less.
Called the dealer, confirmed it's not something that sounds normal to them. Estimated $700 if they need to replace the rails. Nice ...

Thanks a lot for that link. No, the seat doesn't clunk into place at all, but that is not to say I just haven't experienced that YET. I will read that thread thoroughly and I'll get back with my findings.

LE: best I can tell is that it seems that it's more of an "airbag" issue than anything else. The seat seems to be securely latched into place on the bottom side and it's almost as if the pillow that you sit on and which you raise or lower loses air, if that makes any sense.

The passinger seat does that on ours as well. I would describe it the same way, a "soft pillowy" effect as it slides back and forth. Feels like it may be in the seat base cushion. More so then the positive mechanical type of clunk, that you get with a seat riser/rail issue.
I havn't had time to check it out yet though.
