Flat Tire Monitor

I have an 02 R50 MC and just put on new tires today. When I left the tire store I noticed the flat tire monitor blinking. I tried the reset suggested in the owners manual by turning the key to the position 2 pushing the reset button for a few seconds. The light starts blinking right away and continues blinking and blinking and blinking. I have tried this several times with no success. Anyone have any other ideas?

With the engine running, and at a stand-still, try holding the button down until it stops blinking, then proceed driving normally.
After a couple of minutes, it should go out.

The tire reset switch is notorious to fail, but before replacing it try to reset it again like this...

1) Turn the key to position 2
2) Hold the reset button until the tire light comes on
3) Start the car and drive

If the light stays off you should be all set, if the light comes back on and stays or blinks, replace the switch.

Thanks for your help. Persistance pervailed and by holding it down for a longer period of time after 3 or 4 tries it took the reset

Does this fix work on 06 models? I don't recall any reset instructions in my manual...

Just dealt with this this AM with my 05. Key in position II, held down until the light went off, then held down again until it came on solid and starting driving. Went out and all seems to be OK
