I have a May 03 MCS. Recently, I started to notice the infamous cold start problem. It was a little bit of an annoyance, but it didn't do it all the time and it never became a real problem. Then I started to notice the infamous stumble/hesitiation after you shift gears (only when engine is cold, after it works up, its OK). I realize that if I take my car to have these fixed, they'll most likely flash to the new software code.

When is the next major revision going to be finished. I heard at one point in time that by December, they hoped to have a lot of these issues finalized. Should I go in now or wait (until when)?

Thanks,
Erik

Hey Erik...

Wait until the new software comes out...

I have also experienced the cold start issue, but not the stumble (thank goodness!) (MCS 2002, July Build). Our dealer told us to wait until the Dec release because if we don't and upgrade now, the cold start will go away, but the stumble may start to occur! Since I understand that the stumble is much more annoying than the cold start, I can live with it until Dec! (lived with it for about a year, what's another month or two?)

Granted, if you upgrade now, you will probably lose the cold start problem, but chances are, you won't lose the stumble.

Good luck!
