A note to anyone who has NOT yet tried this: Ya just gotta!!! It is very safe, what you love about driving the MINI is exactly what this is all about, and you spend the day with some really cool people!
This was my first time and it was a blast! After the first run, my legs were wobbly from ther adrenilen rush.
These autocross people like to say that this makes you a better driver on the road, and I'm sure it is true. Even if you know you're not going to get the racing bug, you really should try this out.
God speed.

This was the BEST!! I had a blast even if I was technically racing against some WRX's (cuz of my intake). I was able to improve my lap times by 2-3 Seconds each run.
As as mentioned before, make the MINI faster by improving the driver.

The Solo II Nationals looked like a MINI-convention when the H-stock cars were on track. When the bulk of a field is dominated by one type of car, it's pretty indicative that the car is ultra-competitive
I will second anyone who says you've got to give autoX a try, even if you don't own a MINI, it's too much fun not to give it a go at least once. Frankly, I think part of driver's ed should be an autoX...
Those of you who are already hooked, we've got coverage of the nationals and the information about the Yokohama MINI-S we ran in the Dec. issue of GRM.
