Well I wasn't able to talk to Oscar but here is the rundown:

CAI, TB with engine software, free flow exhaust, strut tower brace, signature floor mats, high flow exhaust manifold and headers.

So sounds like it has an S1 with upgraded software (4). Are the headers part of S1? I don't see it listed on their S1 package.

They did not have an install date which was kinda odd. They did have the name of the place that installed it. If the dealer doesn't have any paperwork I guess I'll have to do some digging around.

That package is much less than a JCW package because it is missing the smaller supercharger pulley which makes most of the JCW additional power. If you add a 15% pulley (about $150 with removal tool rental) I would suspect you would need a different software upgrade to get the most out of the pulley change but I do not know the specifics of the Dinan S/W upgrade installed on the car.
Also, your prospective car does not have any JCW suspension or brake upgrades which many JCW cars have.

I suggest you try to drive a Mini with JCW engine and JCW suspension upgrades before you purchase this Mini. However, maybe use this information to even negotiate the price further down and add mods yourself.
Based on your past cars you will want the engine and suspension upgrades.

I would think that this Dinan car would not be worth much more (maybe $1000 more) than a same year Cooper S with same interior options.

OK thanks. I ran KBB, Nada and Edmunds on a "regular" MCS (no DINAN or JCW) based on the options and miles it has and it appears that $19K is $1K under Nada Retail and almost $2K under Edmunds, and almost $3K under KBB...so I think we are still in the ballpark, but this is definitely good info.

That setup is equivalent to an S1 with addition of the stage 4 software. Normally that should coincide with the larger throttle body. If it doesn't already have a badge, a Dinan dealer can request one for you.

insurance is probably cheaper since its classified as a mcs still i was quoted insurance for a mc at $600/yr mcs at $840 and a jcw at $1130. i think that should make up for some of the mods over time.

Here is your next mod: Dinan Boost Upgrade System (includes pulley)
http://www.dinancars.com/store/produ...cat=762&page=1

My insurance company Mercury actually had the GP listed in their drop down menus (as MINI Cooper S JCW w/GP Kit) unfortunately I pay $1296.27 every 6 months, no accidents and 2 speeding tickets which reminds me one ticket should of expired off my dmv record. Gonna check my status at dmv and see my agent if I could get lower rates for October.

So far so good. Have had it 2 months now. However, have been getting the SES light come on about a day after getting gas and will go out after about a day. Reading as the O2 sensor. Need to take it to the dealer as we only have about 2 mos left on warranty. Just hoping they don't have any reason to wipe out the Dinan software as not sure we could get it reinstalled without paying for it again. Took it to the place that actually installed the Dinan package for the previous owner. He told me flat out that the "warranty is not transferable to new owner" which pretty much sucks

We asked about this...it would cost $1800 to install just the pully/fuel system and upgrade from Stage 4 to Stage 5 software. A little pricey for us right now.

Anyone with other Dinan mods install the Alta Pulley? Wondering if this is a do-able option with the Dinan software?

Our insurance is just a little over $500 per year. Not bad
