Experiences w/ Fidelity Warranty Services?
Posted this before in "Stock Problems/Issues" and got no replies so I thought I'd try here. We have an R56 but I figured more R53 owners have extended warranty experience. Our MINI is approaching the end of the MINI warranty and we just had the engine partially rebuilt because of carbon build up. If not for the factory warranty it probably would have cost north of $5K.
So we're shopping for extended warranties. Our dealer sells Fidelity Warranty Services. Anyone have any experience with them? I have had good experiences in the past with Warranty Direct. Both are backed by A - Excellent rated insurance companies, both pricing is similar, but in today's economy, I am thinking I should diversify my counterparty risk.

CNN just ran a story today BLASTING the whole ext/warr industry, especially US Fidelis as a scam. They spend more time denying claims than paying them despite misleading promises of coverage. Anecdotally, I'm sure many will say they had no problems with claims but I'm also sure many more will detail nightmares. Personally, I wouldn't bite. Better to put what you'd spend on a policy into a CD or some other investment and self insure yourself. 2 cents.
