Electronic snake oil?

I saw this thing on E-bay. Claims to give up to 40 hp, I say BS! Anyone try this $20 wonder?

Yep - it's pretty much snake oil. If you take apart the "module", you'll find a 20-cent resistor. Basically, it hooks in-line with your car's Inlet Air Temperature sensor and "tricks" the car's ECU into thinking it's colder outside than it really is. The ECU injects extra fuel to compensate, which *can* give more power under certain limited conditions, but it's probably not going to come without some drawbacks as far as drivability and fuel economy goes.

This "miracle device" has been discussed in these forums before. It's not a good idea to try to "fool" any sensors on a super/turbo charged engine - bad things can happen!
