so i know the cigarette lighter ring in the front lights up but i'm wondering if the cigarette/jack's ring in the boot light up too?

on a 2005 mini cooper

 

On my 2006 neither the front lighter ring or the one in the boot light up. Guess MINI was saving money on light bulbs by the time they built mine.

 

Neither of mine light up as well. You seem to have a very special MINI.

 

Mines light up, it's a orange ring.

 

Had the same issue. Took mine to the dealer and they found the part of the harness that lights up the ring was never installed. This was not a cost savings measure but a mistake during a run at the factory for an unspecified period of time.

Simply put, you car should have it but may not have the wiring in place for it to light.

The dealer checked and it was supposed to be there. It is actually needed if you install the lower console gauges so they can dim with the dash lights.

If it bothers you check with your dealer.

As for the one in the boot, mine lights up but only when the interior lights are on.
