R50/53 60K service how much or did you do it yourself?
60K service how much or did you do it yourself?
Since my car just passed the 60K threshold I am trolling for info from home mechanics who might have completed some or all of the service themselves. If you have done the work yourself what did you do for the 60K?
And if you had the service done, how much did you pay for what type of completed service?

I don't have the list in front of me, but "Inspection II" (which is probably what you're talking about if it's coming due at 60k miles) is mostly "check this, check that" and doesn't involve a lot of parts. Off the top of my head, the only parts I can think of are:
Oil and oil filter
Engine air filter
Serpentine Belt
Air Conditioning cabin microfilter
Brake fluid (if it's been more than two years)
Coolant (if it's been more than four years)
So if you have Inspection II done at a dealer, expect to spend a lot of money for very little in the way of new parts.

Sounds typical. Lots of money! Thanks for the response!
Since I purchased the MINI Extended Service contract until 100K miles, the dealer will be performing my upcoming "Inspection" in another 6,500 miles (Car currently has 55K miles). The plan covers oil/filter, air filters, engine belts, front brake pad and rotors will need to be replaced as well. Brake and coolant fluids also included.
Is the clutch original?
Mine was replaced (Again fully covered by the MINI Extended service plan) on my 2005 MCS back in December. I was having problems with the clutch pressure plate (Springs wearing unevenly) and a very glazed dual mass flywheel (Chewbacca noise).
If your clutch is fine you don't necessarily need to replace it.
