Ok, when i first got my mini, first day i was drviing it my rev limiter kicked in way to soon, couple weeks later i got a cai, now it redlines where its suppose to, but on occasion it will hit the rev limiter early, i think this usually happens when ever im sit in higher rpms like 4000 and then punch it. Any ideas, or help that can be offered?

 

What rpm is it rev limiter kicking in at?

 

it only does it sometimes, when iv been sitting at higher rpm for a few seconds. It will kcik in a 1000, or 500 rpm to soon

Is it your traction control/DSC? The R53's rev-limiter is at 6950 RPM, period. If you didn't realize it, the factory tachometer is woefully slow, and lags far behind actual engine revs.

 

check your plugs and wires. your "rev limiter" could just be a random misfire.
