No I don't have a link... The stickers were found in Maxim magazine, and Motor Trend. Personally I have not seen a MINI advertisment in my Oprah, Redbook, or Smithsonian to compare, so perhaps I am missing something.
These MINI stickers are like the funny character that you can find zooming around the opening page of miniusa.com

It's a long shot, but perhaps the MINI ad campaign is not directly geared to appeal to women. As an example, i know the Jack In The Box (having worked there long enough) ad campaign they have been using since '95 is actually made to appeal to men ages 18-45. Perhaps MINIUSA thinks the most profit lies in appealing to young guys and not to women. I think it is just bad decision-making. Expect to see lots of FemAds
within the next year. Especially with regard to the new Cabrio.
Just my $.02

There are women driving MINI's?!? What has this world come to! I’m disgusted, only men should be driving and women should be passengers and keep their mouths shut. Women should never be behind the wheel! The next thing you know they will want the jobs men can do and even worse, VOTE! This can' be this must never happen!
So does this mean you haven't seen the MINI ads in Playboy?

If the stickers are what I think you all are talking about, they are degins by an artist that took inspiration from Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's designs from I believe the seventies. I'm rather uneducated about him or his art (probably got his name wrong too). Anyway, you could probably assume that this is not meant to be a slap in the face to women but a throwback to the old days. Just like the MINI itself. I'm not trying to start a fire here just hopefully explaining the idea behind it.

look the mini appeals to women....its cute. They dont need to sell it on that fact. The folks at mini are trying hard to not let it become a "chic" car and as such they want all pics of men driving it to maximize sales. Most american men wont drive somenthing that is cute, because they are insecure - so they are trying to push it as a performance car. Not a big deal.

Well I dont see any advertising for MINI featuring gays or asians. So what.
Nothing is ever going to be 100% "politically correct" or gender inclusive.
Its time we get over feeling left out of the equation. Its time to motor on.

I think Maxim is geared toward men. So is Motor Trend.
Volkswagen was way ahead of the crowd with its commercials featuring gay men a couple of years ago. They were very effective. I had a straight co-worker who was sort of a hip guy who drove a Jetta. Everyone just assumed he was gay.

Wait a minute, was he single, thin and neat? Are you sure your gay-dar isn't busted?
Guy driving a jetta, sounds gay enough to me

At the time, being male and driving a Volkswagen was synonymous with being gay. Being quite the ladies' man, he became concerned with his image and bought a Suburu WRX.

One of the people at work gave me the ad a couple of days ago. It could be a little big, but here it is. On the reverse side it has a description of each MINI type person.

T-Rex, how do you know none of the men pictured are gay? In follow up to a recent thread, I asked a Gay friend if Minis are "gay cars". He said, nope, that the New Beetle still has that market. Minis are just for any discerning adult with good taste. That would have to include an elite group of enlightened gays and lesbians who are beyond the Beetle, probably many of them models.

Still kidding...
OK, I honestly have nothing of worth to add to this discussion except that I think people have become overly sensitive.
You, know why my posts are so long? I'm 1/2 Italaian so it's natural to talk with my hands....
You know why the Arabs got all the oil and the Irish got all the Guiness? the Irish had first choice.
Anyway... Hope everyone smiles at least ONCE today.

I think you should call Gloria Aldred, she will get to the bottom of this!

Discrimination???!! They're drawings, not photos of people. Anyway I think that ole' pistonhead and muddawg are arguably of the non-male gender, if drawings could have such a thing. This is one of the funniest threads I've ever seen.
What's next, a section 1983 suit?

I got the actual pack of cards from a dealer, and there is one car that it is not in the magazine ad. It has a woman. HOWEVER, it also has a man. Its called "Lovers MINI" or something like that. Also got some MINI Christmas cards. Ill post some pics.
