I know they are pretty much total opposites, but I am about to order my MINI and I cannot decide between: all black, or pepper white with a black top. I've decided to let you all here on MCO help me with my decision. I'm going to tally up the votes over the next week and report back to all of you with the results. I will be greatly relieved to tackle this choice, and move on with my purchase. Thanks again everyone,

Dave

Go with the Pepper White. We currently have a 2002 Cooper CVT PW with black roof and the car looks gorgeous...classy and very European.

A Black MINI is nice but unless you are willing to put up with washing the car almost daily and if you can leave with all the intricancies of having a black car, such as dirt and scratches showing from miles away, then a Black MINI might be right up your alley.

We have found that in our year plus of owning the Pepper White, the color hides dirt fairly wheel, is extremely easy to maintain and gives the car a very nice aura of sophistication. Pepper White while a popular choice, remains a somewhat rare color.

Can't really go wrong either way but my vote goes to Pepper White.

Good luck!

You have a hard decision in front of you, Good Luck

The '04 MC i ordered is Pepper White with a Black roof. I was toiling the same as you are for a long time before i made my decision. I like the warmth of the Pepper White and the ease of care for the paint. Black will keep you busy eternally trying to keep it looking clean. Then there are the wax swirl marks, the road chips, the constant water spots, the 'always dirty' look...

Not only all that but there are very few Pepper White Coops out there.

Black is the ULTIMATE for any/every automobile, I'd say .

Nah, Pepper White's great, too .

Win-win for you, davehopper -- enjoy!

Think about this: Black absorbs more light, light colors reflect more. Because this car is small and compact,
the dark colors make it look stubby and doesnt show off the great lines and details of this little gem. Add to this the black makes a great backdrop for all that road dirt. I'd say go with the pepper white and just for fun add the black roof for contrast, which I think is what makes this car unique—the constrasting body and roof colors. And don't pass on the sun roof, it really is a nice feature.

all white is the way to go. i have an indi blue / black mcs and it is not fun to keep clean. the dealer did me a 'favor' & waxed it before delivery. the swirl marks are very obvious; especially on the black roof. go all pw. you'll be glad you did.

I'm with CooperBeagle! But whatever you decide, you'll most enjoy the time you spend inside looking out, not outside looking at it! Welcome to MCO...

Pepper white!! Pepper white!!! It's so....creamy....wow I love it. If it were available in the S when I orderd my car, I wouldn't have hesitated. Hell, pepper what almost convince me to buy a cooper instead of an S. I LOVE IT. I do love the black also though. If I were going with black, I would definitely do a white roof, and if I did pepper white, i'd probably go with a pepper white roof. I think both of those combination are very classy.

Welcome to MCO, Dave.
We love PW, but maybe you should get BLACK. That way we won't see ourselves coming and going everywhere we look.

Pepper white, black roof !!!!!!!!!! I will NEVER own a dark colored car again. Too much work to keep clean, swirl marks, softer paint, low visibility to other drivers. Remember, we are driving a microcar and WANT to be seen by other drivers for safety. The Mini looks great in white. My next color choice was the liquid yellow. Bottom line, check out both a your dealership in person, then decide.

I would go with the pepper white and black top to match my D-90 if I had the chance. too bad it was not offered in the S when I got my MINI!

Get the pepper white, and if you don't like it, I will trade you my BRG so I can have a matching set of british cars!

Thanks for the input so far everyone. I feel closer to my decision already!! I am going for the Cooper. At $3,000 less than the S, it looks very attractive to me. I am adding the premium pkg, Fog Lights, Spoiler, Leatherette seats, White side turn lights, and a few other accessories. I know it's not totally decked out, but it will still be rockin' and most importantly...It's within my budget!!! Thanks for the feedback everyone. I look forward to getting more!

I have a PW/B and it's awesome. I have only seen one other PW/B in Pittsburgh (the two of us were tearing up the PA turnpike to Pittsburgh one night). I agree with those who say it's "classy". You will be surprised too at Mini meets/car shows at how many of the public say "Oh, I like this color a lot". I hear it all the time.

If I had the money I would order a PW/B MCS in a second. Very happy with the PW/B MC though!!!

I'm really partial to the Pepper White with Black Roof and mirrors. My last car was black and really looked sharp, when clean, but the work....uugghh, the Pepper White looks good all the time, except for the boot, that sucks up the dirt....but the front, by contrast, always looks clean, and with a good coat of wax the black roof is self cleaning after a good rain. The car definately looks larger in the lighter color too. Add a little tint to the windows and she looks really steath !!

On your options list...don't over look the multifunction steering wheel, best option on the list, you also might want to to book the sport seats as well, to hug you in the twistees !!!

I've seen a few pw/black MC around and they look very nice. I'd never seen all pepper white but I saw MCS that was all white at the dealer last weekend and it looked very, very nice. I'd go for the all pepper white.

Here's a shot of the front end of my PW/B MC. Took after I installed my rally lights. Really is a sharp color. I prefer the contrast of PW/B over all PW but that's just me

Theres nothing better than the sharp contrast of black & white...the way to go! And yes the MFSW is a must have.
