too funny... this post...

I ALWAYS wave, always. even if it's to another on the other side of the median on the interstate... for the longest time i would pass this girl going in opposite directions in the morning on a two lane road in an exact match to my R50. she never waved. but, like the rest of you, i'm pretty persistent too. eventually she started waving back, and then sometimes she would even beat me to it.

a roommate of mine back in college had a '63 VW bug... those guys always wave to each other. my wife and I had a new beetle a while back and i'd say that prob. 50% of them waved back..

i dunno.. maybe i'm just a little nuts... but i wave and smile at people stopped next to me at lights. no matter what they're driving.. isn't that just being neighborly?

 

Was passed my a Blue MCS on my way to work today on 65N and the passenger gave me a friendly wave

 

There was one time I waved and the other Mini driver waved as well. I felt really bad afterward because I forgot to let her exit the driveway onto the street.

Why does this NOT surprise me, AM??!

In 2002 when I first got COOOOOP, there were very few MINIs on the road. I always got waves from other MINI owners! Some other people would point and laugh or point and smile and wave too. It was kinda cool to be so unique.

As the MINI has become more familiar - and more prevalent, the number of responses has gone down. Enthusiasts will still wave but the non-enthusiasts probably won't.

I would bet that 90% of the people on NAM will wave - but only a small percentage of MINI owners are NAMMERS.

So wave, wave, wave! Don't ever stop...
